About this Course

What does it mean to “move beyond the basics”? How can we move to more nuanced understandings of equity, inclusion and belonging — for ourselves and our organizations? In this course, you’ll explore a variety of topics and tools that build upon your foundational knowledge. We’ll discuss creating trauma-informed workplaces and psychologically safe environments, honoring Indigenous ways of knowing and balancing competing needs. You’ll also learn different strategies for furthering DEIB work depending on your position and function, as well as the importance of ethics statements, practice standards and frameworks.

What You’ll Learn

  • Effective ways of working with communities of color and traditionally underserved populations, including refugees, tribes and transgender people
  • Ways to create psychological safety in interpersonal relationships and group settings
  • How to “do” DEIB work from different positions, roles and levels of authority

Get Hands-On Experience

You’ll develop your own personal ethics statement and practice writing and editing DEIB practice standards.
