Meet the Instructor

Diane Hennessey

Diane Hennessey is an ecologist and environmental scientist with 16 years of experience in the field of wetland science and natural resource management. She holds an M.S. in conservation biology and environmental science. Her primary expertise is in wetland and stream ecology, habitat assessments, preparing wetland and habitat mitigation and restoration plans, and implementing monitoring programs in freshwater and marine systems. She has conducted scientific studies in support of and prepared environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, and environmental permit applications. Hennessey has also worked with local jurisdictions on using best available science to revise their critical areas and shoreline management regulations to meet Washington state’s regulations and guidance. She’s been an instructor in the Certificate in Wetland Science & Management program since 2005.
