Joe Dozal

Supervising Investigator and Intern Supervisor, Whatcom County Public Defender's Office

Joe Dozal is the supervising investigator and intern supervisor in the Whatcom County Public Defender's Office. He oversees criminal defense investigations and collaborates with defense attorneys on both misdemeanor and felony cases.Dozal first worked with the Whatcom County Public Defender Office as an intern while he was a student at Western Washington University. He assisted defense attorneys in criminal investigations for indigent clients and got an insightful look into the criminal justice system. After graduating, Dozal obtained his private investigator license and established Dozal Investigations in Bellingham. Over the years, he's handled numerous civil and criminal cases, with a focus on criminal defense and serving legal papers. His work has spanned Whatcom, Snohomish, Island and San Juan counties, and includes surveillance and civil investigations.
