Josh J. Carlson
Associate Professor, The Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics (CHOICE) Institute, University of Washington
Dr. Carlson is an associate professor in CHOICE Institute in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Washington. He’s also an affiliate faculty member at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington’s School of Public Health and Community Medicine in 2007 and was given the ISPOR Bernie J. O’Brien new investigator award in 2014.
Dr. Carlson's research over the last 10 years has informed healthcare decision-making using economic modeling, evidence synthesis, preference assessment and health policy evaluation. This work has spanned many diseases, topics and methodologies, but specific focus areas include economic analysis, precision medicine, cancer and performance-based risk-sharing arrangements. He has diverse formal training in decision modeling, discrete choice experiments, comparative effectiveness, outcomes research and public health genetics.
