Meet the Instructor
Scott Driscoll
Scott Driscoll, an award-winning writer and instructor, has been teaching creative writing for UW Professional & Continuing Education for more than two decades. Driscoll’s debut novel Better You Go Home, which grew out of an exploration of the Czech side of his family, won the Foreword Reviews First Book Contest in 2014. He’s won nine Society of Professional Journalists awards for his nonfiction writing.
Driscoll’s short stories and narrative essays and profiles have been published extensively in literary journals and anthologies, including Image Magazine, Far From Home (Seal Press), Ex-Files: New Stories About Old Flames (Context Books), The Seattle Review, Crosscurrents, Cimarron Review, The South Dakota Review, Oxford Magazine, American Fiction ’88 and others. His creative nonfiction essay “The Intruder” was cited in Best American Essays 1998. Driscoll holds an MFA from the University of Washington.
