Meet the Instructor
Stephen Stanley
Stephen Stanley has more than 42 years of experience as a watershed ecologist, planner and educator. For the past 20 years he has worked at the Department of Ecology, where he helps to develop the Puget Sound Characterization Project. This watershed-based, decision support tool is designed to help local and state governments identify the best locations for protection actions, restoration actions and for new development.
Previously, Stanley taught the fall quarter of the University of Washington's Wetland Science and Management program for 14 years. Presently, he produces environmental and social justice films. Stanley has bachelor's degrees in environmental studies and biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
