Steve Savage
Senior GIS Analyst, HNTB
Before joining HNTB, Steve Savage's roles included working as a consultant for Jacobs, Critigen, CH2M HILL, INRIX and Pierce County IT-GIS. His areas of expertise include transportation, natural resources, emergency management, GIS analysis, GPS, remote sensing and urban and master planning. He’s skilled in GIS analysis, cartographic design and information management systems. He specializes in providing solutions to public-sector clients involved in emergency management and public safety.
Savage has traveled the world providing GIS services and has worked with the Washington State Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association. He’s taught in the UW Certificate in GIS program for eight years, was honored with a Teaching Excellence Award in 2023, and has provided guest lectures for natural resources, urban planning and civil engineering courses at the UW. He has a B.S. in forest management from the UW with minors in geography, specializing in GIS and the conservation of natural resources. He’s also a Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP).
